WILDERARCHITECTURE, Inc. was commissioned for the historic rehabilitation and renovation of a storefront for 7-Eleven in Ybor City. The building is located on a highly visible corner in the Ybor City National Register Historic District and the National Historic Landmark District - one of only 2 neighborhoods to be recognized with the Historic Landmark District designation in the State of Florida. Facade improvements included the restoration of the original storefront openings and the careful selection of replacement window system, new signage package to comply with both the Barrio Latino Guidelines and the City of Tampa Signage Code, and the interior tenant renovation for the new commercial use. This project required close coordination with the City of Tampa Barrio Latino District and followed the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and the BLC Guidelines.
